Success Profile: The Product Development Assistant for Levi’s Men’s Outerwear assists the product development team to seamlessly deliver samples and develop the collection.
Reporting to: Design Director
Brand/Product Focus: Levi’s Men’s Outerwear
Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Key Accountabilities:
Materials and Trims: Assist in the development of new materials and trims, including all submit approvals from development through production; maintain all hard files. Create and maintain seasonal trim chart with all details/costing updates. Assist in the maintenance of seasonal color pallets for NY and overseas office/factory uses. Maintain all organization and storage of in-house hard files of trims/supplies/and files of BOM reference swatches, etc.
Communication: Create and update production BOM’s for all styles. Order samples. Maintain daily communication with vendors and suppliers regarding all aspects of sample development. Send fit comments to vendors.
Logistics and Development:Create and update seasonal factory development charts, maintaining them with style changes through development process, communicating to factories for their follow up.
Technical Drawings: Create technical drawings/diagrams to better convey corrections and instructions to vendors and suppliers. Create and update key documents: mini wall, specs, costing.
Logistics and Organization: Coordinate package deliveries and organize samples promptly. Track samples in partnership with sales and marketing teams.
Education and Experience:
- 0-1 years of product development professional work
- College degree, or equivalent professional work experience, required
- Experience in a high SKU count environment, required
- General understanding of apparel styles, components and construction
- Experience with apparel timelines, calendars, and development process
Skills and Behaviors:
- Advanced MS Excel skills: data manipulation, pivot tables, v-lookup
- Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop.
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detail
- Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated to work in a high energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever-changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and work to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments as well as vendors and other overseas offices
The pay range for this position is: $24.04 per hour/$50,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week) - $26.45 per hour/$55,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)
